2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L V8 Magnum

Asked by D'Lorn Feb 02, 2017 at 11:33 AM about the 2001 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT Club Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Need help. My truck won't start  and I've seen
some answers here on this forum but none of
them seem to be the possible answer I need. I've
replaced the ignition coil, alternator, and battery
myself and I'll admit that I'm not very mechanically
inclined but following the Hanes manual for my
truck I was able to replace both the ignition coil
and the alternator with no trouble, the is just
common sense. I need help diagnosing the
problem as my truck is my only means of
transportation to and from work other than the
bus.

I have codes but they're for the transmission control module and governor solenoid in the transmission.

I'll definitely give that a try. That seems like the most common answer from I've read here on the forum.

Will it start at all? Than die and not start? I had a problem similar to yours. Turned out to be a temperature sensor located near the thermostat.
