I believe that you have a 46RE. But the VIN is also important to know the proper model of this tranny. Unfortunately, mechanical interface is the least of your problems. Without the possibility of extensive/expensive and/or time consuming mods to your ECM, goin' to another generation tranny is prolly inadvisable, unless you're really good with "upgrading" your HAL 9000 (ECM). If there's 1 thing I've learned about any modern vehicle (96 n newer), staunch the cash flow now n just have a good reputable tranny shop do the rebuild if you're not equipped mechanically or have a good friend who knows these kinda things. I've got a manual n do all my own work, that said, there's only a speed n reverse light hookup to my tranny n my HAL 9000 doesn't care outside of the speed sensor. Your 46RE, unfortunately, can't function without HAL.
