CV Axel/ joint

I locked my truck into 4-high simply so I
wouldn't spin when backing out of an
inclined driveway with loose gravel. I
cranked my wheel to the right and kind of
goosed it then I heard a loud snap-crackle-
pop that came from the front driver's side. I
got out to inspect and seen I had completely
snapped
the innards of the u-joint on the cv-axel. Can
I just replace/rebuild the u-joint? If so, what
all do I need to replace as far as hardware? I
just don't want to go spend 250 bucks on a
whole new axel if I don't have to. Thanks

If the Axel is intact no broken yoke rings (once its removed you can inspect everything) including the outer yoke shaft..you can repair just the U-joint. Make sure you know the correct way and have the equipment to install the universal joint.. or have it done.
