What extras if any will i need to install a remote starter on my 2004 dodge ram 1500 QC 4x4 5.7L With a black key
I have a 2004 dodge Ram 1500 4x4 QC 5.7 L V8. It has the 7 speaker infinity sound system with the factory amp behind the glove box. 20 in stock chrome wheels, (I'm naming every single thing possible because this is my last resort so I want whoever may have an answer for me to know all the facts) it has a black key (not grey) its black with the ram logo on it and is exactly 1/4 in thick. The fob is separate, and is an oblongish shape with 3 buttons. Lock/arm, Unlock/disarm (press it twice consecutively and it unlocks all doors, and on the bottom it has a red panic button. Hmm, power driver seat, power mirrors, the thing on my celling that tells me temp, direct, MPG, Etc.. It also came stock with 4 wheels and tires and 2 windshield washer blades. Ha! Ok sooo lets start with, does anybody else have this very same truck? And if so, have you installed your own remote start? I can not get mine to work and I'm sure it's something stupid and easy. I'm no dummy when it comes to repairs and/or upgrades, especially anything electrical. In fact I would consider myself one step below professional just due to the fact that it's not how I make a living. Also, the brand I'm installing is a Ready Remote Model23927. I know there is some talk about needing a bypass that hooks up to my ignition but from what I have gathered is that I DO NOT need one due to the fact that I have a black key and NOT a GREY key?? And I have also heard some talk about some sort of factory alarm bypass?? Possibly a module of some sort..? IDK. I guess my main question all summed up would be-Do I need any extra anything (bypass modules, Etc..) or maybe some extra knowledge that's not given in the normal installation instructions or any information at all would be amazing!!! Thanks guys!
