Truck disengaged drive at 55 mph

My 2004 ram 1500 will not engage the
automatic doesn't have Park reverse or drive
and a strange whining noise seems to sound  
from the torque converter how do I fix this?

    When I reach highway speeds, the truck will start losing throttle for a sec off and on until I reach lower speeds. Almost like a bad fuel filter but only at high speeds.
