cant figure out where the spark plug wires are under the hood 2001 tracker

Should be pretty straight forward on your car. Probably the wires go right down the top of the cylinder head if you have the 16 valve engine.

Your Tracker does not have spark plug wires as such. Each spark plug has it's own coil directly attached to it, hence no spark plug wires. There is a plastic plate held with 2 screws atop the cylinder heads; under this plate are the coils right atop the plugs.
