Is the engine new or used? Either way, if the pump is all sealed up in the engine...if it's new or rebuilt and a reputable builder did the job, it's already primed, used, the procedure is the same. Disconnect the ignition system and fuel relays/fuses n crank that bad boy for around 5 seconds with oil in the engine. You may or may not see an oil pressure rise if you have a gauge. Then, plug everything back in n start her up, you'll know within seconds if you're golden or not.

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram I put a 4.7 motor in it and it has been sitting for 2 years now I cannot get it to start could it be that oil pressure is not building up quick enough for it to start lifters ain't pumped up good enough to work the valves or what
