2003 Camry XLE w/2.4L I4 won't start
I pulled into a parking spot and inadvertently shut off the car while the shift lever was in "D"; noticed it when I could get the key out of the ignition. Key came out after shifting into "P". When I came out to leave, the car would not start. Engine immobilizer light ("blinking Security light") went out when key was inserted and all electrical lights an equipment worked fine. Battery is relatively new and lights did not dim when turning key to "Start". I tried to jump the car and the symptoms were the same - good indications of electrical power, no response from the starter. From other posts, it sounds like it may be a bad starter, but I'm wondering if it could be some interlock that I screwed up during an improper shutdown.
