I went to start my 99 clk 320 w208 and it
will not start . It clicks one time and nothing .
I try it again and nothing at all . What could it
be ? I was thinking the solenoid on the
starter . Thank you for the help .

Could even be bad brushes in the starter....still getting power to everything else? Or maybe dead battery?
Find a nonessential relay that you can swap out for starter relay to use as a test
Just had to replace it in our grand caravan because it was doing the same thing (intermittently), replaced the battery yesterday (it finally wore out), went to start it and it went click, tried again and it started. Drove it to the parts store tested starter and alternator, both passed. Got to thinking about last time it didn't want to start (ticking in engine compartment fuse box after turning the key back to off but couldn't track it down. Replaced the starter relay and haven't had an issue yet (only been about 5 hours though)
