1999 CLK 320 , batteries new in remote , doors open , boot won't , manual key doesn't work either , neither does the cabin switch ? Any ideas

Manual key just presses the lock in but nothing happens , remote new batteries , opens
and locks doors no prob ,red  light comes on even when pressing boot open ! But no light
on cabin switch at all

Trunk latch is faulty. I believe you can access the trunk if you remove the back seat. If not then you have to destroy the the lock cylinder on the trunk lid.
