Where is the Voltage Regulator for a MB E-320, year 2005? In the Generator or separate? How to replace it?Thanks, Ursula

I think my voltage regulator has a problem. Where is it, separate or in the generator? How easy or difficult would it be to replace it?

All modern cars use alternators, not generators- the old cars had separate voltage regulators- the are part of the alternator now- are you just guessing what's wrong?
