It turned out to be (2) bad Cam Oilers caused the tapping and there are a total of (16) of them in my 1995 SL500! I went ahead and replaced them all, (Tip) you can get them online for much less than a MB dealer, it only took me 3-4 hours to complete the job only because I was well prepaired after a few hours of research on a (How To Do) the R&R , you can find very well put together step by step instructions at most any MB club web-site!!
