I have a 1998 BMW Z3 which was in need of minor repair but is now tip top! The battery had totally died. My only problem is as soon as I open either door an alarm goes off, a very annoying, high pitched alarm that lasts for about 30 seconds! This happens as I get in to start the car and as I get out again! HELP!! Any suggestions as how I can stop this annoying sound?

most alarms are tripped by a computer that is on board (if its a factory alarm.) If it's not there should be a little black box somewhere under the steering column (if it's an aftermarket system) that says the brand of the company. Once you know what kind of system you are dealing with it will be easier to disable.
