I need help despeately :( my 2000 bmw Z3 2.8 roadster won't start. I towed it to my
mechanic and he even can't find out what's wrong with it. It isn't the battery, neither it is
the starter he said. I said it might be the ignition not recognizing the key. I was wondering
if anyone out there had the same problem as me and could possibley help me.

I had a very similar problem. I bought the big book and trying trouble shooting it myself. Turn out to be the clutch switch. If you have a stick, you might want to check that out. On mine the engine won't turn over unless the clutch is pretty much pushed to the floor. BMW 1999 Z3 2.8 Manual.
