does the VR6 model come stock with a turbo? Or do they come with a turbo and others don't?

Question type: General
Im buying a 1996 VR6 and it has less than 50,000 miles on it. So it's weird and I'm
curious about it because it is non turbo and I was told they are suppose to come with a
stock turbo.

you know I'm not even sure what I'm looking for here some say kind of hot-rod GOLF...some say it's a Jetta....confused~
No VR6 ever came with a turbo stock, that 96 is gonna be a single overhead cam, it wasn't till september of 2002 that they went to a dual overhead cam. both the Golf and Jetta had these engines as an option as did the Passat.
I Agree with Nick. The only forced induction VW before 1999 Was the VW Corrado G60 and those had a super charger on the VR6. Hope this helps.
Actually the VW Corrado a 1.8 litre, 16-valve, inline-four with 136 bhp (101 kW; 138 PS),[5] and a supercharged 1.8 litre, eight-valve inline-four, marketed as the G60, and delivering 160 bhp (120 kW; 160 PS) at the beginning then they switched to the VR6.
