VW determined that the dipstick and fill might invite owners to introduce wrong or inferior fluid. It does not have provision for a dipstick. What is it doing that you think more fluid will help?

i can hear gear chatter while car in motion,but not grinding or anything.

Is it the automatic transmission? The auto tranny has two separate fluid systems. One for the shifting and one for the gears. Either automatic or manual, you probably should take it to a shop for a fluid change unless you can do it yourself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_01M_transmission
