How do I replace the reverse lights?

The site has images to show you what it looks like. This is for the 2006 GTI but it should be pretty much the same. Good luck.

I've tried that walk through and it is very different because it is for a 2006. I am having trouble locating the second nut to remove the taillight and replace the reverse bulb. At least I think that's how it's done. If they just made the carpet go a little lower I would have a good shot at the bulb. As it is the carpet covers that area forcing me to remove the entire taillight. Very frustrating indeed.
