how do i know if i have an ECOdiesel?  sorry, this is being asked by a "noob".  i know it's a wolfsburg...

Hi 53880, Unfortunately, the ECODiesel didn't make its debut until 1992. The good news is that I found the answer to your question on the CarGurus website. Look at the Volkswagen Jetta Overview and expand the "more" section. Hope this helps!

Actually the ECODiesel was sold in the US during 91-92. (I have a 91.) There is an EcoDiesel emblem on the back. You can also tell by looking in the engine compartment. The Eco has a turbo in the back (between the engine and the passenger compartment. The fuel pump on the Eco does not have a 2-3 inch metal tube standing straight up on top of it.
