Hello, I had the same problem. Googling I came across this page: http://www.startmycar.com/volkswagen/jetta/problems/engine A guy with a similar problem over there fixed it by changing the crankshaft's sensor. I turned out to be the same problem i my case. Hope it helps! Good luck!
