How to turn off the time and mileage off on my 00 vw Jetta vr6

So I haver a 00 vw Jetta and when I turn it off and lock it the time and mileage are still on
. I don't know if thats how it is or if I have to press any specific button. Help please !

the time and mileage show up when you open a door if its not going off have your door sensors and latchs checked.
