do i need to take tension roller for timing belt off,to get belt back on?

see those holes on the thing? are you not able to loosen the bolt slip a needlenose in them and rotate the assembly? rotate it as far as it will go then put a one-penny nail into the hole that appears there, spring-loading it, as it were~

i still cant get my timing belt on my 02 vw jetta-my tensioner bearing assy wont give me enough slack to put timing belt back on-its driving me crazy-Help
