how do i get my timing belt back on my 02 vw jetta

i took my belt off and when i tried to put back on,the tensioner wont give enough for me to
put belt back on

Have to say, I had NO IDEA that this was such a sonofabitch...floor jack, removing motor brackets...what a procedure..you've opened my eyes as to the involvement of this replacement~

Try it on a 6 cylinder Porsche and then count your blessings. Sorry for reviving a dead post.
