where is the map sensor located on a jetta

I have an 02 jettadiesel and it's lost all power it acts like its not getting air i replaced the maf senosr and it did not fix it.  I went to auto zone and they plugged it in and said it's the map sensor.  Where is it located on an 02 jetta diesel  i hate to have to pay 300 bucks for vw to put it on a machine and replace a 40 dollar part but im bout to throw in the towell as much as i hate to

in intake duct between charge air cooler and intake manifold

Would this be the same location for a 2000 tdi jetta?

hi I was told there is some sort of wast gate that is off the turbo.Once this '' flapper" valve wears out it allows the boost from your turbo to blow by losing all your turbo boost!!! take care

My Haynes book had the MAP sensor in the wrong spot. On the 2000 Jetta it is just to the front of the windshield washer reservoir. I removed the reservoir and could access it easily. Turns out a broken wire (right next to a bunch of empty acorns that were under the reservoir??) was causing the p1156 code. Which is enough of a code to fail the Mass safety inspection!

I have a 2004 Jetta TDI and cannot seem to find the right driver to remove the fasteners for the MAP sensor. Anyone know what the tool is?
