Temp light and oil indicator on

Please help, I have a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta. It started
with the oil indicator flashing. I changed the oil
immediately but the oil indicator was still on. Now the
temp light come up when I start the cat even though the
temp is low coupled with check engine sign

Check the fuse box on top of the battery. The first one, should be around 140A goes to the alternator. Make sure there is no corrosion on it and that the wire looks good. I think the alternator wire is prone to corrosion and it causes a high current condition at that fuse. Due to the increased current, the alternator sends too much current through the dash, which also contains one of the field wires from the alternator feeding your battery light on the dash. This will cause the dash to start acting up, usually just before the fuse blows. I had to replace the dash as well as run a new, thicker alternator wire (which is also black from the factory!!! major safety problem i think if you're working on it and don't know.
