Radio stops working until I disconnect and reconnect, what can it be?

2005 VW Jetta 2.5 - Radio stops working.  To get it to work I disconnect the
positive wire of battery wait 10 seconds and reconnect.  Radio works ok for
about 2 days.  What can be the issue?  Is it an issue with the Jetta or radio?
