Gear shift

Asked by France Feb 03, 2016 at 12:57 PM about the 2005 Volkswagen Jetta GLS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently got a 2005 VW Jetta. I find it very difficult
to shift gears. Is it possible to loosen it so it's not
as tight? It's affecting my wrist.

You cannot loosen the gear shift but you can change the gear oil in the transmission which may or may not help. I would suggest using a synthetic gear oil and make sure you use the correct weight oil.
