oil leak in 95 VW Beetle

check oil light has been coming on/off for 4-6 months. Every time it comes on I have added a quart of oil to it. The light came back on and I started to fill it with a quart and all of the oil just poured out of my car onto the ground. Any idea where the leak could be coming from?

If you didn't over fill the engine, there may be a hole blown through the side. Is there a dip stick that you can check? Is the oil coming out of the opening where you pour it in? It may be best to call the shop to pick the car up instead of driving it anywhere.

Yes there have been small spots underneath my car for a few month. I did not overflow it with oil. Everytime I filled it I had checked to make sure it needed it. The dipstick shows that there is no oil in my car whatsoever. The oil flowed out from somewhere underneath.
I had to replace my dipstick for a cost of under $10 easy. There was a break in it so I couldn't be sure how far down the dipstick was supposed to go.
