High rpm

I have a 2001 2.0 vw beetle and at 70mph the rpm
is reaching 5000 is that normal?

5000 rpm sounds high at 70 mph. It must not be kicking into overdrive. Should have a trany shop look at this.

yep sounds stuck in a low gear to me. normal rpms for that speed is roughly 2000rpm -2500 rpm.
