take your car to a electronic mechanic and have it all repaired

My buddy had the same issue. It is the most common reason the airbag light/seat belt light comes on. It's from tilting the seat forward for people to get into the back seat, etc. It rubs on the wires causing them to get damaged causing the light to come on or register an OBD2 code 00591 (as well as others) to read. What we did was purchase the whole seatbelt mechanism and replaced it. It was pretty easy. But you do need an OBD code reader to pinpoint the reason the light is on. And the same code could mean multiple things. Like 'seat belt/ air bag'. Two different things, same code. Also there has been a recall on 2005 VW Beetles. Check the recall web site. You might get it taken care of for free. Ours wasn't on the list so we tackled it ourselves because they were asking an arm and leg to fix. The seat belt was $65 on line. And we are comfortable working on our vehicles. If your unsure, just youtube it. If your still unsure, your best bet is to take it to a VW mechanic and fork over your first born. Also, I will copy and past bellow the multiple reasons for the light. Here you go. Hope this helps. Also, I will copy and past bellow the multiple reasons for the light. •Something is interfering with the seat belt switch. A sensor detects that the seat belt is properly fastened. This can lead to a false or inaccurate reading. Something in the buckle, such as a coin, receipt, or something else can trigger a false warning light. •Sometimes a damaged clockspring can keep the airbag from deploying. If the airbag is broken, it will cause the warning light to illuminate. •Sometimes a car has been in a crash that triggered the crash sensors, but it wasn’t at the point of making the airbags deploy. These situations will illuminate the light. You will need to have your airbag reset so that it can deploy if necessary. There are other problems that can cause an airbag warning light to illuminate. The warning light could illuminate after the car has been in a flood, or if there is corrosion in the car’s computer, so the airbag isn’t read properly. A water leak or something similar could cause the computer to corrode.
