A weird box fell out of my dash

this box just randomly fell out of my dash the other day and i have no idea what it is. i couldnt find it in the shop book for my car.
it is silver wrapped in yell foam. i didnt see where it went so i just stuffed it back in there hope nothin broke. lol

The foam wrap is nothing that the factory would put in. Looks like some sort of control box, maybe alarm. The foam and tape were probably used to make sure it doesn't move wher ever it was pushed into behind the dash.

So do u think it would be safe to unplug and take out or should i just stuff it back in there to where it wont move

I'd stuff it back in, but secure it better so it doesn't fall out again or move.
