What could possibly make car all of a sudden not start

Asked by King00dreaded May 01, 2019 at 11:36 AM about the 1999 Volkswagen Passat 4 Dr GLS V6 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Bought a 1999 VW Passat V6 5 speed
manual Saturday. Drove that day, Sunday
and Monday.... Monday I drove somewhere.
Went back to car, go to start it and leave...No
crank/sound, gauge lights, parking lights only
& radio come on. Nothing else works/comes
on. Idk wtf it could be. Tried getting a jump,
tried charging battery... still nothing....?
Help...

Thanks... That’s what I was thinking. Been seeing some people say battery. Tried jumping and charging that even tho battery tested fine. Some said starter but that makes no sound at all and I had no issue starting it for 2 1/2 days. Just suddenly wouldn’t start so I kinda think it’s alternator also.
