why does my tail light and brake light not work on my 1999 Volkswagen Passat?

My passenger side tail light and brake light do not work. I changed blown fuse
and bulb, but still does not work.

VW's are known for wiring issues, grab your voltmeter, wire brush, solder and start testing the circuits, cleaning and repairing as you go.
