Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ive had a 2001 VW Passat GLX for over a year now, and everyone i take this car to, they cannot figure out why my spark plugs and wires are going bad every 3 weeks.

Has anyone had this problem? and if so, how did you fix it?

I have not. Theres a good possibility that there could be a mouse, or squirrel or whatever getting under the hood and chewing the wires or something like that. As for the spark plugs, I don't have the slightest clue. They shouldn't be going bad every 3 weeks.

I would suggest that the coil output has gone mad, basically frying the leads and plugs. Possibly caused by an internal short within the coil pack or the ECU suppling incorrect info to the coil pack.
