2003 Passat Rough Idle and not accelerating?

I just purchased a 2003 Passat 3.0 runs rough and after it warms up it almost
sounds like a diesel. Also when you try to accelerate it starts to knoick if it
doesn't die altogether...

if this has the 3.0 engine I would try checking all the crank case hoses one is likely cracked or broken. I would regardless replace these asap tho since they are likely due to crack or are cloged if they are the orignal hoses for the car.
