P2646 on a Acura rsx 2006

Asked by GavinCalhoon May 14, 2019 at 02:36 PM about the 2006 Acura RSX FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought this Acura rsx and I’m new to this car
so forgive me if I don’t seem like I know what I’m
saying about this but I’m trying hard to learn. I
need help with this I’m confused and don’t know
what to do. So I replaced the vtec solenoid and I
checked the screen that’s in front that’s right
behide the power steering pump too and I cleaned
it but I didn’t replace it. I checked the vtc valve and
that was cleaned but not replaced. I’m about to
replace the oil pressure switch that’s located
behide the engine but right above the oil filter. Idk
if that will fix it or not.

Same issue. I replaced the tps, vvt (vtec solenoid) and cleaned both screens and replaced the oil and filter. Still getting p2646 code. Not sure where to check next. Maybe oil pump is not giving enough oil to engine or pcm?

I brought my car to a mechanic ran all his diagnosis and said it was the after mark vvt (vtec solenoid). I bought just the oil pressure switch from the dealer and replaced it on the VVT. It seemed to have worked. I'll update after a week if it still running fine.
