Is my 1990 miata the generation with the crankshaft issue?

My VIN ends in 148149...is that the good or the bad?  Thanks!!

yes yours is one of the generation that had crankshaft issues,but if you are having low power troubles and the crank key is wiped out not all is lost. Permatech makes a repair kit specifically for this engine and it works.way better than having to replace crankshaft.:)

I can not find any repair kit made by Permatech. Did they mean permatec ? I have read where a person cut a piece of steel to fill the worn area of the crank shaft between th key and bad area, then they put JB Weld over that. they felt it would be stronger than an epoxy alone.
