Question type: General

I am looking at buying a 2002 Volvo v40 with 160,000 miles on it for 2,800. It
needs rear brakes, catalytic converter, eventually the main seal and rear coils. Are
these cars  reliable or am I going to get into trouble with it. I have only owned
Hondas which I have never had issues with, but I don't know anything about newer
volvos. I did notice a sweet smell coming in through the heater vents whwe drove
it, and dark milky stuff under the oil cap , but the garage he took it to said it was
just condensation.

1 Answer

stay away from this lemon,it will cost more to fix all the problems than the car is worth, especally with a blown head gasket, that is the smell.the milky stuff is collent in the oil.
