rear window replacement

Asked by nevercoast Feb 26, 2011 at 10:05 PM about the 1997 BMW Z3 2.8 Roadster RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 97 bmw z3 .Twenty one thousand miles ,always garaged.Unfortunately, one cold day in Penn.,I took the roof down and the window cracked.Does anyone have experience in changing this window? It looks like a special tool may be required? I was told by my dealer, the roof must be removed, and the cost is out the window,no pun intended?
