Transmission dipstick

My trans dipstick is very loose can move side to side easy
when I poured some transmission fluid in it seeped out
how hard is it to install a new one?

They are easy to replace but sounds like yours is not bolted in place, there should be a bracket that hods it to the transmission housing and an "O" ring on the bottom tip to seal going into transmission

The dipstick resides inside the dipstick tube. Check the bracket mounting and the o-ring as stated above.
