Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've been having issues with not feeling like my brakes were secure and safe -
takes a lot to press pedal all the way to floor to stop at times...have new read
pads and that didn't help much - they're perfectly safe upon inspection from
dealer....they did  say my model doesn't have ABS and that could be another
issue why they feel different....IS THIS TRUE?

Yes, ABS will have a different feel but only when you do a hard stop or are skidding on wet or slick surfaces. They will pulse and you will feel a vibration. You will not feel any difference with normal braking, That said, you might just need to fill the brake fluid reservoir. It is not normal to have to push the pedal to the floor under normal braking. And your dealer is probably right about your car not being equipped with ABS braking.
