what is the cost to replace rod bearings,cam bearings. Actually the bottom end. Just a ballpark figure for parts. '97 chevy 5.7

oil pump went out. Knocks pretty goodso i assume it needs bottom end rebuilt. JUST
WONDERING WHAT PARTS MIGHT COST.

Sounds cheap to me, probably Chinese crap. Try RockAuto.com or summit racing they sell higher quality but there is your ballpark ..the 030-040 on some of the parts refer to oversize if bored out and rod bearings same, if crank has been machined you need thicker bearings

I'd put a reman short block in it. You get it apart and it will possibly need a crank, bearings, oil pump, pistons rings, cylinders bored etc.

Yes I would suggest a short block if things are that bad on this one.
