Check engine light came on,Dealership put on the machine and says its oil control valve. Parts and labor $538. If oil control valve doesn't correct it then the cam gear will need to be replaced.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Cam gear repair $2950.  Parts for oil valve and cam gear $310 each.  Sounds
strange that the parts are the same cost.

Does this sound typical?  Mileage 181468

Thanks,
Denise
