Head gasket issue
Asked by Guru5S3ZF Mar 01, 2018 at 02:29 PM about the 2005 Buick Rendezvous CX AWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 2005 Buick Rendezvous was just
diagnosed with a head gasket or head
going out. Drove about 15 miles when
“warning, engine overheated” light came
on. No white smoke or anything. Been
driving it short distances to keep fluids
moving and no issues (driving less than 10
miles). Can’t afford the 2,600 to 4,000
repair that was quoted. Want to try an
engine gasket sealant but was told that
these sealants could cause worse damage
over time. Any thoughts?

That's a crazy amount for just a head gasket. You can get a replacement engine for less and have it installed.
It’s my understanding that head sealers are sometimes effective with only small small small holes. But if you presently don’t have the money to fix it and you don’t mine taking a chance flushing $20 to $100+ give it a try. I always had good luck with Bar’s Leak products. GL
GOOGLE BEST HEADGASKET REPAIR LOTS OF OPTIONS
I'm doin the head gasket kit on my 2005 Buick rendezvous after try n the sealant first ND I clogged all the water ports in this vehicle I wouldn't recommend it just buy the repair kit and do it urself
Did you fix it or get a new car cause presently my car is doing the same thing smh. And idk if I should sell it or let the junk ppl take it.
