Check out your battery, battery connections and alternator. The low voltage may be causing the transmissions problems.

Tenspeed, you and your little friend posts in every thread and offer no productive information. How about you quit trying to increase your rep by posting about problems you know not of. OP, the reverse slam is probably caused by the valve body going out, the connectors melting on top, or as a consequence of both the input/output shaft nuts are backing off. Try a reman valve body. How many miles are on the car btw?

Replace your transmission filter, very simple like a oil filter, some you may have to remove battery tray to get to it.
