High idle

Asked by Rbohler Sep 25, 2016 at 05:47 PM about the 1999 Saturn S-Series 4 Dr SL1 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car idles I in between shifts. Averages around
2000 to 2500 between shifting. No codes on the
car and I've cleaned the throttle body. I left the car
running and sprayed ether to see if I had a vacuum
leak. Not the best way to check but all I had. Still
having issues. Any ides?

Yeah I had a car that had a throttle position sensor that went bad and it's like a little a sensor that screws into the throttle body , it was doing the same thing at idle it would go up real high and real low and in neutral and stuff like that. I would guess thats it?
