Gas gauge indicator, temperature gauge, don't work

Asked by morganbethany Jan 21, 2020 at 06:04 PM about the 2007 Pontiac Torrent Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Gas gauge stopped worked! So frustrating
not knowing exactly the amount of gas you
have. We do the stupid retarded millage thing
we reset the millage when we fill up but how
do we know for sure what in the tank when
we put 10 or 15 and then another 10! I don't
want to run out of gas cause my gas gauge
don't work, I only want to run out of gas cause
myvstupid ass decide to drive knowing the
amount of gas that I have will not get me to
my destination, but go anyways! Lol

Eventually you will need to replace your gauge or the level sensing sender in the tank. It may also be a fuse, but I assume you checked that. Until you get it fixed, keep doing the "mileage thing" but fill the tank every time you stop for fuel. That way you will know your starting with the entire range of the car.
