Subaru 2.5L H4 engine reliability

These are great engines with the qualifier that the head gaskets are a problem area. Use Subaru's anti-leak in the radiator and keep it well serviced and it should last a long time. Mine went 200,000 miles with no problems other than a seeping head gasket. The timing belts are rated to last 105,000 miles, be sure and change them and the water pump and idler wheels before then. If it pings be sure and use a higher grade gas.

Check out the link I posted a few minutes ago...this will solve your head gaskets issues better than the original equipment. Maybe you have to do this once in your car's ownership. Most cars 2010 and newer will likely never see this, they used the newly designed head gaskets with the introduction of the 2010 model year.
I (owned) a 2008 legacy ....nice f'n car ...but yeah ....my engine did crap ...it has 160,000 miles on it ...got the timing and head gaskets done ...but the engine started knocking and it jus went .......I've been doing research and alot of people ....like alot have the same issue ....if there is a way to keep my next engine from doing the same I would get it ...but I dont know about owning another subaru
