How do I know of I have a bad 02 sensor or if the check engine light just didn't reset?

Asked by Dvaughan Apr 27, 2014 at 04:54 PM about the 2007 Dodge Durango SLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced the 02 sensor, because the code was checked at Auto Zone. The check engine
light did not go out and is now reading as bad sensor. The code is p0058. Did I get a bad
02 sensor or did the check engine light not reset?

the computer will not reset itself. now that you have replaced the part, you have to clear the code. AutoZone will not let you use their scanner to reset your codes. go to advance to do that.

Do you have 2 or 4 sensor´s and did you change out the right one ? You can take the negative of the battery for 2 minutes and reconnect and your pcm is reset.
