camaro z28 93

Asked by Bradleysara Apr 19, 2018 at 12:57 AM about the 1993 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My camaro won't stay running unless I keep
pressing the gas peddle.... it shakes underneath
like the exhaust is clogged up... I wanna say it's the
fuel filter or egr but I'm not sure

sounds like a bad IAC valve , clean the IAC port if you decide t replace it , look for any loose/broken vacuum lines , spray some carb cleaner down the throttle

So we put a filter on and added gas to the car it ended up starting but acted like it wanted to stall a bit, we were half a tank when we broke down and the car sat a year with a full tank of gas before we got it fixed.... could this be the reason and also if there is sludge in the tank is there a way to get rid of it...

if the gas is a year old it needs to be removed somehow , you should have mentioned that before
