Limp mode on 07 Grand Prix gt 3.8

Car starts and runs for good 50 secs then shuts off and doesn’t give me no rpms when I give it
gas says reduced engine power

Scan it for trouble codes. It goes into limp mode because there is something wrong with the car that's serious enough to be a safety issue or that will cause further significant damage to the car if its not addressed.
